The weather is getting nicer and…you can just smell Spring in the air.
After reading about the Spring Fever contest over at Dad’s House, I thought that I’d jot down a little something that completes MY Spring.

To me, Spring signifies the start of my fishing season. I love to fish. I don’t get to go as often as I’d like to, but I love it all the same. Taking the big boats out for a 2 day trip, trading stories and drinking beer with a bunch of smelly, weathered old men is really not as bad as it sounds. I even like the trips when I don’t catch anything. It is being on the water, line out and a beer in hand…surrounded by a dozen others with the same mindset.
The last trip I went on was last Spring…WAY too long ago! I took a boat out of Dana Point and we motored out to Catalina to fish. It was beautiful.
On that last trip…This is what I caught.
A 22 pound White Sea Bass!!!
I can’t wait for my next trip! I love Spring!

Hope it tasted as good as it looks!
Is that the 2nd best catch you've ever had?
Well....the third. After Mariah.... I once caught a fish that was.... THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS BIIIIIIIIIIIIIG!
We live on the Gulf and a return to the water and all the thigns you can do there reminds me of spring, too. That and breaking out the sandals and new nail polish for pedicures! lol...
Hey thanks for going over and showing support to my friend with his new blog. Really, really appreciate it. I'll be pimping Hot Dads over the weekend now that Mike has his blog launched and I'm through with getting it up and running.
Thanks again!
Nice fish dude!!! I used to fish with my uncle and cousin all the time and loved it but I haven't been in ages. I need to get back into it!
Sweet!
THAT IS SWEET!!!
What a gorgeous catch! Besides Mariah, that is.
I grew up fishing but have strangely developed motion sickness now. Even when I scuba, I have to go in from the beach. Sucks... because I would LOVE to go deep sea fishing.
Oh well, have fun for the both of us.
My granddaddy taught me how to fish when I was just knee high to a grasshopper. (There is sooo much midwest in that sentence, it's nearly disgusting)
I love fishing. I hope you get out more this spring and summer!
Wow, that sea bass is amazing! I've been rock cod fishing a bunch of times, and it is a blast to be on a boat, line in the water, beer in hand with a bunch of guys.
Great post!
So help me if you win that Amazon card because you showed a picture of a fish!!! Albeit it's a BIG fish...but for some reason that speaks man language and might give you a one up on the competition!!! :)
