WARNING! This post might be a bit on the crude side, but it is an honest, random thought that has drifted through my mind a time or two.
*AND I am trying to weed out my sissy-ass, prude and generally boring readers. (PLEASE leave an honest comment...It will help me in the weeding department.)
What is the nutritional value of corn? How much of it is taken in by the body?
I ask because I know that when I have a healthy serving of corn with a meal…pretty much the same amount comes out in my …movements.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not bashing corn…I love corn and will eat it as long as I have teeth.
I am just curious as to its nutritional value and how much of the corn the body ingests.
I know that with one kernel of corn, inside the ‘skin’ is a mushy center…is that all that is consumed by the body? I also know that the outer skin is what is…’left behind.’ What the hell kind of alien food is eaten but the body refuses to or cannot break it down?
Feel free to check out the evidence here if you dare.
If you have crazy Yoda-like corn knowledge and can enlighten the rest of the world…Please do. I’d put this mystery up there with Bigfoot, Amelia Earhart and the Loch Ness Sea Monster.

You are one nasty sucker... NASTY and I love you, what the fuck is WRONG with me? Seriously, I need medication and I feel like sticking needles in my eyes.
Do you know what's worse? When there is corn in the bowl and you haven't EATEN corn in like...2 weeks? That's disturbing.
Afraid I have no insight into your digestional issues - though I admit it's a valid question. And one that anyone who has changed a toddler's diaper must have pondered.
I've never been accused of being sissy-ass or prudish. But I do admit to occasionally being boring.
Hope that doesn't get me weeded.
Because if you want to scare me away, you'll have to try harder than this. :)
Mariah - can't say that you have not thought this very thing EVERY time you ate corn.
Rumm Drinker - freakin mysterious ain't it?
ZenMom - my next post COULD be about how West coasters suck and their sissy-assed warm blood ...would that do it? (kidding of course...Mariah would kick my ass)
Bring it, Tent boy. :D
It's not my fault you're jealous that you had to move to the greatest state in the union while some of us were just lucky enough to be born here. ;)
OK...first of all I moved here after 15 years in New England...got the best schooling, best seasons, snow skiing, ice skating, Twizzlers, etc. then I moved.
Secondly, California can't be considered a union state as it was the 31st state to join the union...almost a hundred years after it was settled...whereas New Hampshire (where I was born was the 9th state in the union)
I'm sick and need professional help. Why do I say that? Because I actually clicked on that link. But I'm not as sick as the person who maintains a website dedicated to pictures of poop...
Dude, you guys seriously need to get over the Twizzlers. They are to gag.
I'll grant you the seasons. And ya'll do have some pretty leaves in the fall.
But part of the fabulousness that is California living is that within just a short drive you can have it all: Snowy mountains, sunny beaches, painted deserts ...
In other words, anything New Hampshire can do, California can do better. 'Cept maybe the crowds.
Neener, neener, neener. ;P
LOL omg. i often wondered this too but i have not wondered about blogging about it. you crack me up
Okay, here's the boring factual stuff. Corn is soluable fiber, the good nutritious stuff stays behind while the cleansing stuff makes it way out again. Yeah, boring. I love to tell my kids to make sure they eat their fiber because it will make them poop. "But I don't wanna poop!"
And I have wondered about the corn thing since I was a kid. Nuts, too. Eeew.
were'nt we just talking about this?? LOL
See now ... I don't really look at my poo that closely, even after I've munched on an ear of corn. I'm guessing, like everyone else, I have some niblets tucked in there though.
I've always heard that corn has no nutritional value.
However, I took a moment to 'goo' nutritional value of corn and got this:
Health Benefits of Corn: There are no particular health benefits of corn, except for the fact that it provides necessary calories for daily metabolism of the body. Corn is good for skin care, boosting nervous system, digestion, and maintaining low cholesterol levels.
Apparently it also makes your poo colorful.
I do hope that wasn't too boring. *grins*
If I were more PRO active I would google it for you and be your YODA... but I'm not, I'm lazy and I suck...
SO... all I know is that I see corn also in my bowel movements... it's GOOD stuff so WHO cares if it's nutritional... really... who cares? Besides you and this post... :)
Problem with me is that I have too many friends on blogger and they know me irl and I can't really say what I think all the time. So, although my blog might be boring to you, if you saw in my head you would wonder WTF was wrong with me.
I have to agree with WHDR- scary when it appears out of nowhere. I have 4 kids, changed the diapers, and have to admit, I look. Sometimes it's just gross.
Ummm, have you googled it? Wikipedia has vast knowledge on just about any subject. And if Wiki says it you know it is damn true!
I actually know someone who refuses to eat corn because he doesn't like it to show up in his poop.
Huh?
Does it really matter?
And yeah, I like this. Deep thoughts by TC.
Yep just had corn the other night. That's what I saw the next morning!

I think I'll avoid the link....because I am only slightly sissy....however this is a conversation I do like to make jokes about whenever I serve up some corn. My kids find me funny anyway. ;)
I have nothing helpful to add. I don't eat corn. I see no point in eating something my body won't break down. Plus, I just think it tastes funny.
Now popcorn, that's good stuff. I don't hardly eat that either though.
I have wondered about this before though. Also, posts about shit make me laugh because people don't like talking about poop for some reason. Like everyone doesn't do it. Psh.
oh my god so true, if you look closely, carrots show up too, yup!
